Rockeye-2 is the second generation of Yanco's white-and-brown two-tone china, and every one of its 29 pieces is round or oval. Where the earlier Rockeye numbers run to triangles and rectangles, this set is curves only. Eighteen of the 29 items are bowls or deep plates, so it behaves as a hollowware set with enough flat pieces to support it, not as a plate line with a few bowls attached.

What's in the Rockeye-2 line

  • Oval platters at 8" x 5 1/2", 10" x 6 3/4", 12" x 8 1/4" and 14" x 9 1/4", none deeper than 1 1/2"

Check the ounce figure, not the diameter

Capacity in this set does not track width the way you would expect it to. Three pieces measure about nine inches across and hold very different amounts: the RO-2610 dessert/soup plate at 10 oz, the RO-2809 ramen bowl at 27 oz and the RO-2609 salad/pasta bowl at 30 oz. The same thing happens at eleven inches, where the RO-2611 pasta bowl takes 16 oz and the RO-2711 deep Mediterranean bowl takes 32 oz — double the volume at the same width. The largest capacity in the line, 46 oz, belongs to the 8" RO-2808 fusion bowl. Spec off the stated ounces and wall height, and check the number against your portion before committing a case.
