Fourteen ounces in a five-and-a-half-inch round with a two-and-a-quarter-inch wall. Nappie is the old hotelware word for exactly this: a round side bowl with a rolled rim, used for a vegetable, a portion of sauce, a side of beans. The rim is what the name refers to, and it is what lets a server carry three of them up a forearm.

Against the fruit bowl in this series it is nearly an inch deeper and holds almost three times as much, which is the practical line between a garnish and a side course. The wall flares just enough for a ladle to clear. Pebbled texture outside, smooth glaze in the well. Chinaware body, dishwasher safe and microwave safe.
