Dunnage Racks
Dunnage racks are low-profile elevated platforms that keep food, supplies, and equipment off the floor in commercial kitchens, walk-in coolers, freezers, and dry storage areas. Health departments require that all food and supplies be stored at least six inches off the ground, and storing items directly on the floor is one of the most common violations flagged during restaurant inspections. A set of dunnage racks is one of the cheapest and most effective ways to stay compliant and protect your inventory from moisture, pests, and contamination. We carry the full Atosa line of heavy-duty aluminum dunnage racks starting at just $57.
Available Sizes
Our Atosa dunnage racks come in four widths and two heights so you can match the rack to your storage space. For tight areas and smaller walk-in coolers, the 20 x 24 inch racks are available in 8-inch height ($57) and 12-inch height ($59). For standard walk-in coolers and dry storage rooms, the 36 x 20 inch racks come in 8-inch ($66) and 12-inch ($76) options. For larger kitchens and higher volume operations, the 48 x 20 inch racks are available at 8-inch ($82) and 12-inch ($90). For maximum storage surface in busy restaurants, commissary kitchens, and catering operations, the 60 x 20 inch racks come in 8-inch ($96) and 12-inch ($109).
8-Inch vs 12-Inch Height
Both heights meet the six-inch minimum clearance required by health codes. The 12-inch height gives you extra clearance underneath for easier cleaning, better airflow, and more room to spot spills or pest activity. In walk-in coolers and freezers where condensation and water runoff are a constant concern, the extra four inches of clearance can make a real difference. The 8-inch height is a better fit for storage areas with low shelving above or where you need to maximize vertical stacking space.
Why Aluminum Over Plastic
Plastic dunnage racks and shelving units are cheaper upfront but they crack, warp, and break down quickly in the cold, wet conditions inside walk-in coolers and freezers. Heavy-duty aluminum resists corrosion, supports heavier loads without bending, and lasts for years of daily commercial use. Aluminum racks are also lightweight enough to move around for cleaning and rearranging storage as needed.
