Recovery is Yanco's deepest American white china line: 67 items on one rolled-edge body, running from a 1.5 oz ramekin to an 18" x 12" platter. It is the plain blank that several of Yanco's decorated white patterns are built on — Green Band is a 34-item selection of these same shapes carrying a green rim stripe, matching right down to the RE-32 fruit bowl and the RE-95 Jung bowl. Bought undecorated, it covers a whole restaurant's china in one order: plates in nine diameters, oval platters in seven, a full coffee and espresso program, and a bench of specialty pieces most white lines make you source separately.
What's in the Recovery line
- Round plates — 5.5", 6.625", 7.125", 8.25", 9", 9.75", 10.5", 11.25" and 12".
- Oval platters — 7" x 4.5" up to 15.5" x 10.5", plus the RE-281 at 18" x 12".
- Salad plates with raised walls — 10.5", 11.5" and 13".
- Bowls — nappies at 10, 12.5 and 15 oz; Jung bowls at 9.5 and 13.5 oz; fruit at 3.5 and 5 oz; grapefruit at 13 oz; rim soup at 10 oz; salad/soup/pasta at 25, 48 and 60 oz; round pasta bowls at 16, 24, 26 and 30 oz.
- Cups and mugs — tall cup, stackable cup, Chinese tea cup, bouillon cups at 6 and 7.25 oz, espresso, cappuccino, three saucers, and six named mugs from 7 to 20 oz.
- Specialty — 9.5" compartment plate, 10.5" triangle pasta bowl, 11.5" square pasta bowl, three fry pan servers, a handled casserole, a creme brulee dish, a pipkin, a ramekin and a creamer.
Bowls, nappies and breakfast service
The full-size Yanco RE-82 Salad/Soup/Pasta Bowl (60 oz) is the family-style piece; the Yanco RE-81 (48 oz) and Yanco RE-80 (25 oz) cover plated portions and individual servings. Round pasta bowls run 10.5" through 12.75" at 16, 24, 26 and 30 oz, so a kitchen can hold portion size steady and change the plate footprint instead.
The traditional bowl bench handles breakfast and sides. The Yanco RE-18 (15 oz), Yanco RE-15 Nappie (12.5 oz) and Yanco RE-24 Nappie (10 oz) take cereal, oatmeal and diner-portion soup. The Yanco RE-10 Grapefruit Bowl (13 oz) gives the shallow citrus silhouette, while the Yanco RE-11 Fruit Bowl (5 oz) and Yanco RE-32 Fruit Bowl (3.5 oz) hold fruit cups, applesauce and cottage cheese at fixed portions. The Yanco RE-135 Jung Bowl (13.5 oz) and Yanco RE-95 Jung Bowl (9.5 oz) are the taller, straighter-sided rice and side-dish shape.
For broth and cup soup, the Yanco RE-4 Bouillon Cup (7.25 oz) and Yanco RE-46 Bouillon Cup (6 oz) cover French onion and consommé, and the Yanco MB-6 Bowl (25 oz) takes chowder, chili and stew.
Plates, platters and the divided pieces
Where raised walls matter, the Yanco RE-210 Salad Plate (10.5"), Yanco RE-211 (11.5") and Yanco RE-213 (13") hold sauced salads on the plate rather than on the tray. Two shapes break the round-and-oval pattern: the Yanco RE-410 Triangle Pasta Bowl (22 oz, 10.5") and the Yanco RE-511 Square Pasta Bowl (12 oz, 11.5"). For tray lines that need portions kept apart, the Yanco RE-309 Compartment Plate (22 oz, 9.5") divides a 9.5" round.
Coffee, espresso and the named mugs
The Yanco RE-1 Tall Cup (7 oz) sits on the Yanco RE-2 Saucer (6.125"); the Yanco RE-23 Stackable Coffee/Tea Cup (7 oz) holds the same 7 oz in a nesting shape for bussing carts and banquet racks. Espresso runs on the Yanco RE-35 Espresso Cup (3.5 oz) with its 4.5" Yanco RE-36 Saucer, and the Yanco RE-56 Cappuccino Cup (14 oz) takes the wider 6.875" Yanco RE-57 Saucer. The Yanco RE-45 Chinese Tea Cup (4.5 oz) is handleless.
Six mugs carry place names rather than numbers. The wide Yanco RE-7-P Provo Mug (7 oz) also comes as the Yanco RE-7-PC Provo Mug in caramel — the single brown item in an otherwise all-white line. The Yanco RE-8-T Tierra Mug (8 oz), Yanco RE-75-H Hartford Mug (8 oz) and Yanco RE-38 Mug (8 oz) hold the same 8 oz in three different profiles. Above them sit the Yanco RE-12-P Prime Stackable Mug (14 oz), the Yanco RE-15-J Joy Mug (15 oz) and the Yanco RE-16-P Prime Stackable Mug (20 oz).
Pieces that come in from outside the RE- series
Seven items in this collection carry other Yanco prefixes but are cataloged in the same American white body, which is why they are grouped here rather than sold as a separate range. They are the FP-12, FP-18 and FP-24 fry pan servers (12, 18 and 24 oz, up to 13" x 9.75"), the DFHC-10 handled casserole, the CB-6 creme brulee dish, the PIP-2 pipkin at 2 oz and the RAMS-15 ramekin at 1.5 oz — the smallest piece in the line and the one that ships 48 to a case.
