Cowboy is gray china with a basket-weave texture worked into the face, listed across 27 items. It is the shape-heavy pattern of the group: four round coupe plates, four oval coupes, four rectangles, two squares and two oblong dessert plates, against eight bowls. The one thing it does not have is a cup and saucer — the only drink piece is a 12 oz mug.

Check the capacity against the white version
Several Cowboy bowls are the same castings the white Versailles and Cambria patterns use, but the rated volumes are not the same. CB-709 and VS-709 are both 9" x 1 7/8" salad/pasta bowls; Cowboy's is listed at 24 oz and the Versailles piece at 30. CB-708 at 8 1/8" is rated 16 oz where the Versailles 8" is 22. The ramen bowls run the same way — 43 oz here against 50 there. If you are swapping a white pattern out for the gray, pull the spec sheet before assuming the portion size carries over.
The other thing to settle early is the coffee service. With no cup and no saucer, a room running Cowboy for food has to take its cups from another pattern, or run the 12 oz mug for everything. Two of the four rectangles are also worth a second look: CB-412 and CB-312 are both twelve inches long and differ only by half an inch of width and a quarter inch of depth.

Cowboy is catalogued with the rest of the china in the full Yanco range. Versailles is the white pattern it shares castings with and the place to find the cup and saucer it lacks; Denmark is the other colored line here carrying both squares and rectangles, in a matte light purple.
