Twenty-three pieces, and five different plate geometries among them. Universe is blue chinaware that spends its count on shape where most patterns this size spend it on diameters: round coupe, rectangular, triangle, boat-shape and deep oval plates all in one pattern. Six bowls sit under that, 1 oz to 60 oz. Beverage service is one 6 oz stackable cup and a saucer, no more.
What's in the Universe line
- Coupe plates at 6 3/4", 8 1/4", 9 3/4", 10 1/2" and 12"
- Rectangular plates at 10" x 5 7/8", 10 3/4" x 6 1/4", 13 1/4" x 7 1/2" and 14 1/4" x 8 1/4"
- Triangle plates at 9" x 8 1/2" and 11 3/4" x 11 1/4"
- A 11 1/2" boat-shape plate, 3" deep, at 45 oz
- A 13 1/2" deep oval plate (24 oz), 9 1/2" dessert plate (10 oz), 9 1/2" soup plate (7 oz)
- Bowls: 2 1/2" sauce dish (1 oz), 5 1/4" oval (7 oz), 6 3/4" salad/soup (17 oz), 8 1/4" salad/soup (30 oz), 8 1/4" ramen (26 oz), 10 1/4" ramen (60 oz)
- A 3 1/8" stackable cup at 6 oz and a 5 7/8" saucer
Plates vary by shape, bowls vary by volume
The plates are thin on sizing — five coupe steps, four rectangles, one or two of everything else — but that buys a menu where each course lands on a different outline: appetizer on the 9" triangle, entree on a 10 1/2" coupe, a shared plate on the 14 1/4" rectangle. The bowls work the opposite way, six steps of volume at 1, 7, 17, 26, 30 and 60 oz. Two share a diameter: UN-609 and UN-608 are both 8 1/4", a 26 oz ramen bowl and a 30 oz salad/soup, both packed twelve. Order those by stock number. The cup is an accessory, not a beverage program.
