Scaled up to 11-3/4 by 11-1/4 inches, the same triangle becomes a platter. It runs 2-3/4 inches longer than the 9 inch triangle plate and a quarter inch deeper at the wall, enough to carry a shared starter, a layered cake cut into slices, or an arrangement of maki for a table of three.

A triangular platter also solves a real table problem, because it slots into the corner of a crowded four-top where a round of the same area will not fit. Fired chinaware keeps the three edges true through heavy handling. Twelve to a case.
