Misty is gray melamine, and despite the name on the box it is really an Asian-service line. Of the 25 items, three are ramen bowls, one is a rice bowl, three are sauce dishes including a divided one, and four are free-form irregular plates. There is no dinner plate above 12", no cup, no saucer and no platter over 14" — this is a range built for bowls and small plates, not for a banquet.

Bowls, by what they are for

The ramen bowls are the anchor and they step in useful increments: MI-607 at 26 oz (7" x 2.75"), MI-608 at 38 oz (8" x 3.125") and MI-609 at 55 oz (9" x 3.5") — enough spread to price a small, regular and large bowl off the same pattern.

Shallow bowls handle salads and soups: MI-407 (12 oz, 7"), MI-408 (18 oz, 8") and MI-409 (25 oz, 9"). The MI-605 cereal bowl (16 oz) and MI-504 rice bowl (10 oz) cover individual portions. The MI-710 pasta bowl is oblong at 10.75" x 7" and holds only 12 oz, so treat it as a plate with a lip rather than a bowl.

One piece has no equivalent elsewhere in the Yanco melamine catalog: the MI-509 handled bowl (24 oz, 9" x 7"), a skillet shape with the handle molded in. It plates a hot appetizer or a shared side and comes back to the pass by the handle.

Sauce service and irregular plates

Three dishes cover condiments: MI-5002 (1.5 oz, 2.5"), MI-5003 (4 oz, 3.5") and the MI-506 two-well dish, 2 oz per side, which keeps soy and ginger apart on one footprint.

The irregular plates are the line's signature: MI-307 (7.5" x 5.5"), MI-309 (9.5" x 7.5"), MI-311 (11" x 9") and MI-312 (12" x 10"). The rim height climbs with the size, from half an inch to an inch and a quarter, so the larger ones hold a sauced dish. The elongated MI-709 dessert plate (9.25" x 5") suits a tasting flight.

Conventional shapes fill the rest: rounds at 7.5", 9", 10.5" and 12", ovals at 10" x 6", 12" x 7.75" and 14" x 9.75".
