At 11 by 9 inches the MI-311 crosses the ten-inch line and is written as a serving platter. The free-form rim and the 1 inch wall give it more holding depth than the MI-309 beneath it, so a saucy shared dish does not spill over the edge.

This is the size a table of two shares from: a whole fish, a mixed plate of grilled vegetables, a dessert selection. Two dozen to a case is a sensible depth for a room that sends out shared dishes alongside individual covers. The charcoal and brown speckle is pressed into the melamine body, so a serving fork drawn across the surface does not take the pattern with it.
