The largest of Yoto's four plain ovals runs a full fifteen inches on its long axis and eleven and an eighth across, with a 1-1/2 inch wall, the deepest of the four ovals. It is built for the middle of a shared table: a whole roast duck, a heap of noodles, or a sashimi arrangement that needs space between items.

A china platter of these proportions is heavy enough that two hands become a requirement. Melamine brings the weight down far enough that one arm will do. The surface resists the scoring that carving and serving spoons inflict, and the green tea matte keeps attention on the food rather than the platter.
