Yanco SW-208 Sea Wave Chinaware 7-1/4" x 5" Rectangular Plate, Bone White — Case of 24 (2 dz)

A 7-1/4 by 5 inch rectangle is a presentation plate rather than a course plate.

The long axis suits three or four items arranged in a row — tasting spoons, a trio of sliders, a sashimi flight — where a square or a circle would leave the ends looking empty. Thirty-six square inches of working surface is less than the 7 inch square offers, so this is deliberately a tighter canvas with a stronger direction built into it. Three-quarters of an inch of height gives the plate enough body to feel substantial in the hand. Twenty-four in a case suits a bar programme running one format all evening.
