An 11 inch pasta bowl holding 55 ounces at 2-1/2 inches deep. At that capacity it stops being a single cover and becomes a sharing dish: mussels for two, a family-style pasta, a mixed salad for a whole table.

Fifty-five ounces is more than double what the 8-3/4 inch Sentry bowl takes, and the walls are a half inch taller, so a loose, liquid dish can cross a dining room without a tray under it.
