Yanco SI-504 Siena Chinaware 4" x 2" Bouillon Cup 8 oz, Bone White — Case of 36 (3 dz)
Four inches across, two deep, eight ounces to the brim. A bouillon cup is the small steep-walled vessel a kitchen sends a clear soup out in, and this is the trade standard size for it: broth, consomme, a cup of chowder, a tasting pour of bisque ahead of a main.
The steep wall is the functional difference from a shallow dish of similar span. It keeps liquid in while a tray moves and it holds heat for longer, because there is less surface open to the air. Set it on the SI-108 eight inch plate and the pair becomes a soup course with somewhere for the spoon to go. Versailles VS-404 is the same four by two inch bouillon cup at the same eight ounce fill. Three dozen to a case.
