Twelve by seven and a half inches: over the ten-inch line, so a platter, and the proportion suits a run of food rather than a single arrangement. Six to eight pieces of sushi, a line of sliders, a sliced baguette, a half-dozen pastries.

The 1-1/8 inch rise is shallow enough that a diner can reach across it and deep enough to hold crumbs and juices.
