Yanco RM-106BK Rome Melamine 6" Square Plate, Black — Case of 48 (4 dz)

Black at six inches square turns the bread plate into a frame: a white roll, a pat of butter, a wedge of cheese all gain an edge against the dark ground that they lose on a pale one. The half-inch rise keeps crumbs contained without making a well.

Pastry sections order this one in quantity for exactly that reason, and bars use it for the small plates that come out with a cocktail list. It matches the dark run through Rome's eight, ten, twelve and fourteen inch squares, so a venue can set a whole cover from one pattern. Melamine, dishwasher safe. A case carries four dozen.
