Forty-eight ounces is a litre and a half, and it takes eight and a half inches of width plus three and a quarter inches of depth to hold it. This is the larger of Piscataway's two menudo bowls, cut for a full restaurant portion of a soup meant to be the whole meal.

Menudo, pozole, a big ramen, or a stew served without a separate plate all suit it. An inch of extra width and half an inch of extra depth over the twenty-five-ounce version nearly doubles what goes in. Bone white chinaware, with a wall thick enough to carry heat to the table.
