Ten inches across and 2-1/4" deep, this salad bowl takes 32 ounces, which is a shared portion for two to three covers or a single large entree salad. Doubling the capacity of the 8" version adds just a quarter inch of wall height, because the growth is almost all in diameter.

That flatter geometry matters at service: a wide bowl lets dressing reach the leaves when it is tossed, where a deep narrow one leaves the top dry and the bottom swamped. The same body works for a bowl of fruit on a buffet or a bed of ice for shrimp. The unglazed foot ring keeps it from sliding on a steel pass.
