Eight and three quarter inches, the middle coupe in Paris and the size a lunch service tends to settle on. An inch and a quarter wider than the seven-and-a-half and a little over two inches narrower than the eleven, it takes a composed salad, a plated starter for a tasting menu, a light main, or a generous dessert.

Without a flange the usable field runs almost to the lip, so a portion that would look crowded on a rimmed plate of the same width has room here. The flip side is that there is no border to grip, which is why coupes are handled from underneath and come off the pass with a cloth. China construction, cleared for dishwashers and for microwaves.
