The wall rises in a simple curve with no flange on it, so the whole diameter is usable and a spoon reaches the bottom without fighting a lip.

It takes a vegetable side, a portion of soup where no starter-course ceremony is wanted, oatmeal on a breakfast floor, chili, or a scoop of ice cream.
