Nine and a half by six and three quarters, an oval cut for one person rather than for the middle of a table. Ovals suit food that is longer than it is wide, which is much of what a starter course puts out: three grilled prawns in a line, a sliced sausage fan, a pair of crostini, a smoked fish portion with its garnish trailing behind it.

At under ten inches on the long axis this stays an appetizer plate and is written that way across the store, matching the Piscataway and Miami ovals of the same cut. The three larger Paris ovals are serving platters that go to the middle of the table; this one goes down in front of a guest. The ring detail follows the oval border all the way round.
