The middle size in the Osaka divided range, 8-3/4 by 5-1/2 inches, gives each compartment about an inch more length than the 7-3/4 inch body, which is the difference between three gyoza and five. Sauce stays on its own side of the moulded ridge instead of creeping under the food.

Two dozen to a case. A one inch wall around the outside keeps a loose garnish contained, and the flat underside sits still on a bar top instead of rocking. Specify this size when a divided plate doubles as dessert presentation: a slice on one side, a sorbet or cream on the other, with no bleed between them.
