Two small handles, the ears, run off the long sides of the OC-506, and they are the reason the piece exists. Six and a half by five inches at seven ounces suits a single portion of baked cheese, a gratin, a creme brulee or a hot dip, and the ears let it come out of an oven onto a liner without a towel wrapped round it.

An inch and three-quarters of wall gives a browning surface without the contents drying out. Sauce dishes aside, it is the smallest-capacity bowl-form piece in the pattern, because it is deliberately shallow for its footprint. Three dozen ship in a carton.
