The OC-4031 carries two wells in one body: five and a half inches by three, split into a pair of two-ounce compartments. Soy on one side, chilli oil or ponzu on the other, and a server carries one item rather than two. For a sushi counter or a dumpling service that is the whole argument for it.

An inch and a quarter of depth is enough to stop a splash when a plate lands hard. Thirty-six go to a carton, which is the density a condiment item needs when every cover takes one. The only other divided piece Ocean makes is the OC-5112 compartment plate, which does an entirely different job.
