At 9" across, the NR-8 is the entry point to Normandy's dinner plates and the size a great many diners, delis, and senior-living kitchens standardise on. A 9" round holds a protein, a starch, and a vegetable with visible plate showing between them, which reads as a composed cover rather than a loaded one, and portion control follows the rim almost by itself.
