The MR-611 is an odd and useful shape: 11-1/2 inches of diameter with a two-inch wall but only nine ounces of capacity, which means almost all of that width is flat floor with a shallow lip at the edge.

Yanco lists it as a dessert plate and that is how it behaves — a plated dessert, a tart, an ice cream with sauce that needs a border to stay put. Its nine-ounce figure matches the MR-409 soup plate even though this one is nearly two and a half inches wider. The difference is all in how flat the floor runs.
