Yanco MM-12-SQ Miami Chinaware 12" Square Platter, Bone White — Case of 12 (1 dz)

A twelve-inch square carries 144 square inches, and on the MM-12-SQ nearly all of it is usable flat surface, because the 1-1/8" edge turns up sharply rather than sloping away.

That makes it a sharing platter: a whole fish, a tart cut into squares, a cheese course with room between the pieces. Square servers also tile, so two or three pushed together along a buffet make a continuous run with no gaps an oval would leave. The Miami embossing follows all four sides. The 10" MM-10-SQ is the plate-sized version of the same shape.
