Sixteen by twelve inches of oval surface. At this size the piece stops being a plate in any practical sense and becomes a platter, and its proportions suit the long centre of a buffet table where the narrower ovals leave gaps.

The quarter-inch-over-one wall matches the fourteen-inch oval, so the two stack and store together even though the larger one covers considerably more table. Two inches of extra length and a full inch of extra width is what separates them. Twelve arrive per carton. Caterers tend to work this length and the eighteen-inch oval in rotation, loading one while the other is out on the line.
