Yanco LY-407BU Lyon-Blue Chinaware 7" x 4-3/4" x 1-3/4" Oval Salad Bowl 10 oz, Blue — Case of 24 (2 dz)

The LY-407BU has a narrow oval plan with walls that rise at a steady angle off a small flat base, and the glaze traces that geometry exactly: a tight dark ellipse at the bottom, lightening evenly up the sides to a pale lip. Looking down into this salad bowl you see a gradient, not a flat colour.

Leaves standing against the upper wall are backed by lighter blue and keep their edges; whatever settles at the base disappears into the dark. For a side portion that is a useful way round, since the greenery is what should be showing on a loaded salad bowl.
