Nine inches across with a two-and-three-eighths-inch wall and twenty ounces of volume, the pasta plate is a wide, deep piece in the Lyon-Coral line that goes under a ladle of ragu or a spoonful of risotto.

It is a hot-handling piece. A loaded pasta plate holds heat in that thick wall, so it leaves the window under a cloth or with a thumb kept on the dry outer edge. Stacking is slow for the same reason the soup version is slow - deep wells seat into one another - so keep the columns short enough that a flat hand goes under the base instead of clawing at the rim.
