Yanco LY-215BU Lyon-Blue Chinaware 15" x 8-1/2" x 1-5/8" Rectangular Platter, Blue — Case of 12 (1 dz)

Fifteen inches of straight edge is long enough for the glaze to shift along its length, and it does: the blue on this rectangular platter runs a shade deeper at one end than the other, with the speckling bunching where the glaze lay thick. Over that length the variation reads as deliberate.

The wall rises an inch and five-eighths and stands square to the floor, so the interior is a clean rectangle of colour with nothing curved bleeding into it. Dark meat, dressed greens and pale pastry all hold their own against the rectangular platter's mid-blue field.
