Lyon's rectangular platters are cut long with squared sides, and the LY-213 measures thirteen inches by seven and three-eighths with a one-and-a-half-inch edge. Straight sides are what distinguish it in service: food can be laid in parallel rows and read as rows, which is how a charcuterie board, a sashimi run or a dessert flight is meant to look.

Corners also mean the rectangular platter sits square to a table edge or a buffet rail with no wasted gap beside it, and the raised edge contains dressed or saucy items that a flat wooden board would simply let run off.
