Lyon's trapezoid plates taper from a wide back edge to a narrower front, and the LY-106 is the bread and butter plate in that run: five and three-quarter inches on its long axis, three quarters of an inch of rise. That is enough surface for a roll and a butter pat, or two slices of baguette, without crowding a place setting that already carries a cup and a cover.

The angled corners mean the bread and butter plate sits off-square to the diner, which reads as deliberate rather than accidental at a table of round china. Set it at the ten-o'clock position above the fork and the taper points the long edge toward the seat.
