Yanco LY-002BU Lyon-Blue Chinaware 6-1/2" x 3/4" Saucer, Blue — Case of 36 (3 dz)

A saucer is read edge-on as often as face-on, and the LY-002BU is profiled for that: a shallow central well, then a continuous sweep out to a thin lip with no step or shelf along the way. The three-quarter-inch rise is gentle enough that the blue reads as one graded field instead of a ring of colour around a pale middle.

Where the glaze settles in the well it deepens; on the outer sweep it thins and the speckling in the finish becomes easier to pick out. A cup foot parked in the centre covers the darker part, which keeps this saucer looking even across a tray of them.
