Yanco LY-001BU Lyon-Blue Chinaware 4" x 2-5/8" Tea Cup 7 oz, Blue — Case of 36 (3 dz)

The LY-001BU tea cup comes out of the mould with a plain tapered lip rather than a rolled bead, so the wall thins toward the mouth and meets a drinker cleanly. Inside, the blue runs dark where the glaze gathers at the base of the bowl and lightens up the wall, which is what a reactive finish does on a curved interior.

Against tea the gradient is quiet; against espresso crema or milk foam the pale band near the lip gives the drink a defined edge. Spoon marks do not show on this tea cup the way they do on a plain white interior, which matters on china that goes back out a dozen times a day.
