Yanco JP-5149 Japanese Melamine 5-1/4" x 4-3/4" Square Side Dish 24 oz, Sand — Case of 48 (4 dz)

Squared sides rather than a round profile: five and a quarter by four and three quarter inches, twenty four ounces deep, which is a great deal of volume for a dish that takes up so little of the table. The JP-5149 holds a side of rice, a portion of salad, or a wet side such as kimchi or sunomono.

The straight sides are what buy the capacity. Its footprint is barely larger than the five inch round sauce bowl in the same collection, yet it carries more than twice as much. Four dozen in a case. The sand body takes the same abstract brushwork as the rest of the collection, and being melamine it will not chip at the corners where a squared dish takes its knocks.
