The Jingdu shape gives the JP-3005 a five inch mouth and ten ounces of volume, which reads as a generous rice bowl or a right-sized bowl for miso set beside a bento tray. It is the wider of the two named shapes Yanco moulds for the Japanese collection, the Nanjing bowl being the narrower of the pair.

Ten ounces leaves room for a ladle of broth poured over rice without the surface coming near the rim. Four dozen arrive in each carton. Melamine carries heat far less readily than stoneware does, so a bowl filled with hot rice can be lifted in one hand without a cloth, and the printed decoration sits under the surface where a spoon cannot scuff it.
