A fish plate, narrow and deep: 9-1/8 inches long but just 4-7/8 inches across, with a 1-1/4 inch well. The proportion is dictated by what it holds. A single fillet or a small whole fish lies along its length, and the deep well catches the liquor that comes off it.

Nothing else in Iris Blue has this footprint. A round of similar length would put empty glaze on either side of the fish; this narrows to the food. The depth is enough to pour a sauce over at the table without it running off. Twenty-four to the case, two dozen. Speckled blue chinaware, dishwasher and microwave safe, and it takes a hot pass without trouble.
