Yanco HS-212 Houston Melamine 12" x 9" Oval Platter, White and Red — Case of 12 (1 dz)
An oval crosses from cover to serving piece somewhere around the ten-inch mark, and at 12" x 9" this one is well across the line: a platter. It takes a whole roast chicken, a half-dozen portions of grilled vegetables, a sandwich-and-pickle presentation for two, or a passed-appetizer load for a drinks reception.
Against the 13-1/2" oval platter it is an inch and a half shorter and correspondingly lighter in the hand, which matters to a server carrying three of them down an aisle. It also drops into a standard twelve-inch rack slot that the larger oval will not always clear. A dozen to the carton is the usual serving-piece quantity - enough to run a buffet line and hold spares behind it.
