A bowl ten and a half inches across whose well measures five and three-quarters, sunk an inch and three-quarters and holding ten ounces. A broad flange around a shallow central well is the classic pasta-bowl arrangement: it spreads a portion thin so the sauce coats the noodles rather than pooling under them.

Ten ounces sounds small for pasta and is not, since a plated restaurant portion of dressed noodles sits at about that volume and the width does the remaining work visually. The same bowl takes a grain dish, a ceviche or a dressed salad. Twelve to a case, cleared for microwave reheating and machine washing.
