A small oval, four inches by three and an eighth, an inch and a half deep, holding two ounces. Named for olives and pits but used for anything a table needs a receptacle for: lemon wedges, cocktail onions, a butter portion, the shells from a shrimp course.

An inch and a half of depth is a lot for a two-ounce vessel, and that is the design: steep walls so a fork can chase a single olive into a corner. This dish reads as a table accessory rather than part of a cover. Three dozen to a case, because small pieces walk. Chinaware under green glaze, dishwasher and microwave safe.
