Seven inches by four and a half and an inch deep: the smallest oval in Green Band, and the one that behaves least like a platter. At this size it works as a bread boat, a condiment tray, a butter and lemon rest beside a fish course, or a two-bite dessert dish.

Thirty-six pieces per carton reflects how these actually get used — in quantity, on every cover, rather than one or two to a table. The narrow four and a half inch width is deliberate: it drops into the gap between a dinner plate and the table edge, where a round of equal area simply would not go.
