At 8-1/4 inches this Fortune bowl holds 18 ounces, enough for an individual noodle portion, a generous salad, or a soup course served without a separate underliner. The folded wall climbs higher on one side than the other, which gives a diner a natural place to rest a spoon and gives a chef a high point to build a garnish against.

It is the second-largest of the four Fortune bowls, 14 ounces above the 5-1/2 inch FU-506 and 10 below the 10-inch FU-510. Three dozen to the case puts it at the volume end of the family rather than the display end. The bone white glaze keeps a dressed green or a clear broth looking like itself.
