The coupe form has no rim: the glaze runs in an unbroken curve from centre to edge, so there is no ledge to catch sauce and nothing to interrupt the dark bronze surface. At seven inches with a three-quarter inch rise, this plate is the bread, side-salad and dessert size of the coupe run.

It is the shallowest of the four coupe rounds, which is what lets three dozen ship in one carton. Send it out under the DB-109 for a two-course cover, or alone with a single composed item in the middle, where the plain field does the framing that a patterned plate would fight.
