An eight by five and a half inch oval, cut shallow and intended as an appetizer plate. The oval footprint is deliberate: it takes a linear plating, three bites in a row or a skewer or a pair of crostini, in a way a circle of the same area cannot without looking sparse at the sides.

This is the smaller of the two oval appetizer plates in the Coupe Pattern line, and the one that fits two to a cover on a crowded table. Forty-eight to a case suits a bar menu or a tapas room where small plates turn faster than entrees. It also works as an underliner for a ramekin or a sauce dish.
