Fifteen inches by twelve, with a wall that rises an inch and three quarters. This oval platter is the table centre of the Champs pattern, built for a carvery joint, a whole roast bird or a buffet position that has to stay stocked through a two hour sitting.

The extra quarter inch of wall over the thirteen inch oval matters more than the extra length does, because it is what lets the piece hold a bed of rice or a pool of braising liquid under the meat. Loaded, it is a two hand carry, and it wants a full shelf to itself rather than a slot in a rack. Dark green under a chafing lamp reads warm rather than clinical. Twelve to a case.
