The compact oval platter in the Champs range, eleven inches on the long axis and nine across. That is a share plate for two people rather than a table centre: a whole trout, a rack of lamb carved into four, a mezze spread of three or four items with room between them.

An inch and a quarter of rise around the whole rim holds marinade and resting juices. Because the long axis is eleven inches it will sit crosswise on a standard two-top without hanging over the edge, which the two larger Champs ovals will not. Servers can also run two of these down a banquet table where one long platter would block the sightline. Twelve to a case.
