That asymmetric footprint and the unusual depth make it a plate for a single composed dessert with height — a soufflé, a tart with a quenelle, a layered presentation that wants walls on three sides.

Three inches of depth on a nine-inch body gives more containment than any other plate in the pattern and nearly as much as the bowls. Yanco calls out an alumina body on this item specifically.
