Twenty ounces across a full eight inches on only 1-5/8 inches of depth — a wide shallow bowl that reads as a rimmed plate from above. This is the soup-plate shape: something eaten from with the plate still on the table, not a vessel anybody lifts.

The width is why it works for salad as well. Leaves sit loose rather than compressed, and a dressing can be tossed in it without going over the edge.
