Nine inches is the workhorse lunch plate — large enough for an entrée with two sides, small enough that a portion looks generous rather than lost on the face. In Cambria it is also the hinge size: cartons drop from three dozen to two here, because nine-inch plates get used in volume but weigh enough that a 36-count box becomes awkward to lift.

The 3/4-inch wall is shallow enough to slide under a heat lamp and deep enough to contain a loose dressing. Where the CA-110 at 10-1/2 inches is a true dinner plate and the CA-107 is a salad plate, this one covers both roles in a café or a hotel breakfast room.
