At 7-1/4 inches the BR-7 is the larger of the two salad rounds in Brown Speckled, three quarters of an inch wider across than the BR-6. That gap is small on paper and obvious on a table: a composed salad with protein on it needs the extra surface, and so does a dessert that arrives with a sauce pooled underneath.

Operators who carry both rounds usually run the 6-1/2 inch as the side and this one as the course. Kept in the same thirty-six piece case quantity, the two can be reordered together without working out separate pars. Used alone, the 7-1/4 inch is also a reasonable lunch plate for a sandwich-and-pickle service where the full dinner round would read as too much plate.
